Materials Utility Team Lead 2nd Shift
Job Description

Peerless Pump Company, a leading USA pump manufacturer is seeking a Materials Utility Team Lead for 2nd shift. The Team Lead is a very critical position within the logistics team with it being a key stakeholder to guarantee high delivery performance towards the domestic and international customer while also being responsible for maintaining production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies, staging finish products and receiving material from vendors in a timely fashion.

This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and it is fully onsite at our Indianapolis, Indiana. This position is a 2nd shift with working hours from 2:30PM-11:30PM.

What is the job about?

  • Inspect material and product for completeness and accuracy in regard to picking for production or shipment.
  • Monitor and establish deadlines and optimize workflow to increase efficiency and completeness. 
  • Act as a liaison between the team and upper management, reporting on team progress, metrics and project outcomes. 
  • Inspire, motivate and mentor team members to perform at their best, fostering a positive and inclusive culture. 
  • Assist Stores and Receiving as needed on workflow, and act as the liaison between the Stores and Receiving team and management. 
  • Identify bottlenecks, resolve conflicts promptly and make decisions to ensure projects stay on track. 
  • Report and track errors, defects, and shortages pursuant to procedure and perform manual and electronic record keeping and information retrieval functions. 
  • Maintain forklift equipment and complete preventive maintenance checklists. 
  • Provide training and instruction to other employees as required and help the team with projects or tasks as necessary. 

 

What do you need to apply?

  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years as a Team lead in a manufacturing/production setting. 
  • An ability to operate cranes, forklifts, screw jacks, hydraulic jacks and other warehouse equipment as needed. 
  • Computer proficiency with a strong preference for SAP experience. 
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, bend, squat, sit, walk, and stand. 
  • Great communication and organizational skills. 
  • Customer centricity on every task.

The salary range for this position is $23.07-$30.57/hour.   Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate’s profile.
