Logistics/International Compliance Intern  Indianapolis (Summer 2026, onsite)

Peerless Pump Company, an Indianapolis based subsidiary of Grundfos, is seeking a Logistics/International Compliance Intern for its Summer 2026 Intern Program.  

 

 

This Logistics/International Compliance Intern will report to, and take functional direction from, the Freight Manager and will operate daily out of the Indianapolis, IN facility (onsite, Mon-Fri).

 

 

Summer Interns at Peerless Pump are given opportunities to participate in department projects with the goal to help expand their technical education and aid in completion of projects.  At the end of the term, Interns will prepare a project status report to present to senior management within the company to explain impact of their project and receive direct feedback on performance.

 

 

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.  Sponsorship is not available for applicants for US Work visa status for this opportunity (no sponsorship is available for H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, CPT or any other employment-based visa. 

 

 

The salary for this position is $20/hour.

What is the job about?

 

 

The Logistics Intern will work with the International Compliance Team on key projects with exposure to multiple logistics functions.  Deliver results through accurate investigation, organization, and attention to detail.  Collaborating with internal and external customers.  Ability to work well with a team.  Strong customer focus. 

 

 

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

 

 

  • Review processes and create standards.
  • Review HTS codes on materials on new orders and make changes as requested by Freight Manager.
  • Obtain proof of export and proof of delivery (courier only) for export orders by tracking, communicating with forwarders, utilizing forwarder websites.
  • Complete the export transaction files, ensuring that all required documents are contained within the file, and move into appropriate “shipped” folder locations for retainage as required by Export Administration Regulations.     

 

 

Posting, Reporting, and Work Relations

 

 

This position will work closely, and collaborate with internal and external customers, shop floor personnel, Shipping/Skidding, Traffic Office, and other members of the International Compliance Team.        

 

 

Required Minimum Qualifications

 

 

  • Working towards a B.S. in Supply Chain, Logistics, Materials Management (or equivalent) from an accredited university *incoming 3rd or 4th year preferred
  • Must be detailed oriented and possess excellent follow up skills
  • Person must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Computer (MS Windows, Lab View, Excel)
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds; Ability to bend, squat, sit, walk, and stand

  • Identify the target and workload for the day and define a plan to get things done (accountability)
  • WM experience in SAP an advantage
  • Good at organizing and structuring (5S)
  • Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with company policy and established safety standard                

 

 

Work Conditions

 

 

Will work closely with both office and shop floor personnel in a non-airconditioned manufacturing environment.
