What is the job about?

 

Peerless Pump Company, a Grundfos subsidiary, is seeking a Logistics Coordinator I to join our Freight team. The Logistics Coordinator l will focus on shipments outbound from the Peerless Indianapolis plant, with the overall responsibility of ensuring on-time shipment of customer orders. This position’s primary responsibilities are to process and execute daily shipment and delivery transactions, coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders, and coordinate relevant activities between the Customer Service team and the Shipping area

This position reports directly to our Freight Manager and will operate out of the Indianapolis, IN facility daily.

 

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. Sponsorship is not available for applicants for US Work visa status for this opportunity (no sponsorship is available for H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, CPT or any other employment-based visa. 

 

Your main responsibilities:

 

  • Process daily shipment and delivery transactions in ERP system (SAP).
  • Coordinate and communicate with internal/external customers, carriers, and freight forwarders to facilitate movement of freight for domestic and overseas transportation, to ensure timely shipment and clearance.
  • Monitor ready shipments, and follow, when necessary, to ensure shipment to customers on time.
  • Ensure cost efficient shipping methods, under the guidance of Peerless’ Sourcing Team.
  • Support logistic activities in other areas of the plant such as the receiving and warehousing area if it is impactful to execute an outbound shipment.
  • Execute a variety of clerical activities such as answering phone and emails, printing and filing shipping documents, etc.
  • Support other activities conducted by the Freight Department, on an as-needed basis.
  • Work with a high degree of accuracy to ensure system integrity.
  • Perform work, promote teamwork, and communicate in conjunction with the Peerless culture and corporate standards.
  • Perform international compliance checks as directed by Freight Manager

 

Your background

 

We imagine that you have: 

 

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two years’ experience working in a similar role, preferred.
  • Two years’ clerical experience or equivalent
  • Knowledge of export shipments and documentation a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
  • Hight written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in other departments to cross train or help as needed
