What is the job about?  

The IS Application Specialist participates in computer application design, development, implementation, and application integration and takes responsibility for application consultancy by using custom solutions while observing relevant design & development guidelines within an application area to support business requirement. This position reports directly to the Engineering & Business Solutions Director and will operate on a hybrid schedule 2 days in the Indianapolis, IN facility, with the ability to work remote from home 3 days per week. Please note that relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidate must have the authorization to work in the USA without support.

 

Your main responsibilities:  

  • Ensure application security, stability and development of additional features that benefit the users and business.
  • Participate in advisory services, application delivery, design, development, implementation, maintenance, support, consultancy, and application integration within a solution area.
  • Deliver advice and consultancy on application functionality and act as sparring partner towards all relevant stakeholders in the Peerless Business.
  • Ensure that relevant business processes are developed and described and that the overall design and development is carried out and documented.
  • Responsible for training program users to become more self-sufficient and efficient as well as creation of training work instructions.
  • Identify areas for improvement in the business as well as facilitate and secure the overall design of the solution.
  • Perform work, promote teamwork, and communicate in conjunction with our culture and corporate standards (Safety/Environmental, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Communication, Internal Controls, etc.).      

 

Your background 

We imagine that you have:   

 

A bachelor's degree preferred and 2-4 years’ experience in the field of Computer Science (or similar) or equivalent work experience. Ideally have 2-4 years of relevant work experience outside of formal education.          

 

  • Experience building developed processes within IT and Consultancy
  • Ability to lead processes or projects.
  • Ability to develop a business process within IT and Consultancy.
  • Solid knowledge of the plans, processes, and activities within the functional area in IT and Consultancy.
  • Possess understanding of the relevant systems, local laws, and regulations where applicable, for IT and Consultancy.
  • Competent in applying expertise & technology, analyzing, learning & researching, delivering results & meeting customer expectations, and adapting and responding to change.
  • Task and deadline focused with a comprehensive work ethic and ability to prioritize. Should be self-motivated, possessing good judgment and discretion.
  • Able to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment taking personal responsibility for assignment.
  • Proficient using Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), ERP Systems (SAP preferred), Web Development using C# and VB.Net, ETL Tools (BODS preferred), SQL Scripting, and CRM Systems (Salesforce preferred).
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a small team with a high level of autonomy.                  
  • Advanced verbal and written skills; fluent at reading, speaking, & writing English, including technical vocabulary.
