Peerless Pump Company, an Indianapolis based subsidiary of Grundfos, is seeking a IS Application - Summer 2023 Intern to join its Systems/Engineering Team.
The IS Application Summer Interns at Peerless Pump are given opportunities to participate in department projects with the goal to help expand their technical education and aid in completion of projects. This position reports directly to the Systems Consultant/Engineering Director and will operate daily out of the Indianapolis, IN facility.
Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

What is the job about?
Interns will work with an IS Systems Consultant to complete assignments. Projects may involve interfacing with other departments such as engineering, machine shop, purchasing, vendors, quality, order processing and sales. At the end of the term, Interns will prepare a project status report to present to senior management within the company to explain impact of their project(s) and receive direct feedback on performance.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for documenting current in-house IS applications, business processes, and applications support/maintenance processes.
- Participate in application design and development.
- Identify areas for improvement in the business.
- Perform work, promote teamwork and communicate in conjunction with our culture and corporate standards (Safety/Environmental, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Communication, Internal Controls, etc.).
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient using electronic tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe).
- Web Development using C# and VB.Net, ETL Tools (BODS preferred), and SQL Scripting a plus.
- Working toward a Computer Science or technical degree
- Excellent verbal and written skills; able to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Must be detailed oriented and possess excellent follow up skills.
- A strong work ethic is highly important including multitasking ability.
- Person must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Education and Experience:
- Proficient using electronic tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe).
- Web Development using C# and VB.Net, ETL Tools (BODS preferred), and SQL Scripting a plus.
- Working toward a Computer Science or technical degree
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- May be asked to perform physical work such as lifting and assembling product
