Peerless Pump, an Indianapolis based subsidiary of Grundfos, is seeking Engineering Interns for its Summer 2023 Intern Program.
The Engineering Intern will report to Chief Engineer/Engineering Director and will operate daily out of the Indianapolis, IN facility Monday-Friday.
Engineering Summer Interns at Peerless Pump are given opportunities to participate in department projects with the goal to help expand their technical education and aid in completion of projects. Interns will work with staff engineers to complete assignments. Projects may involve interfacing with other departments such as machine shop, purchasing, vendors, quality, order processing and sales. At the end of the term, Interns will prepare a project status report to present to senior management within the company to explain impact of their project and receive direct feedback on performance.

Duties and Responsibilities may include:
- Preparation and modification of engineering drawings using both manual and computer-aided systems such as CATIA or AutoCAD
- Preparation and modification of engineering bill of materials (BOM) in ERP system (SAP)
- Support in assembly and testing of projects in the manufacturing release phase, this would include data reduction and presentation from lab
- Perform work, promote teamwork and communicate in conjunction with our culture and corporate standards (Safety/Environmental, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Communication, Internal Controls, etc.).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written skills; able to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team; A strong work ethic is highly important including multitasking ability.
- Proficient using electronic tools (Excel, Word, Office, PowerPoint, Adobe)
- Maybe asked to perform physical work such as lifting and assembling product for testing
- Able to create 3D models and 2D prints in CATIA or AutoCAD
Education and Experience:
- Working toward a 4 year technical or engineering degree (preference to mid/completed 3rd year students)
- Must be detailed oriented and possess excellent follow up skills
- A strong work ethic is highly important including multitasking ability.
- Person should be able to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment taking personal responsibility for assignment and product line.
- Person must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
