Cycle Count Attendant - Indianapolis [2nd shift - onsite]

Peerless Pump Company, an Indianapolis based subsidiary of Grundfos, is seeking an experienced Cycle Count Attendant to join its Warehouse/Stores team.

What is the job about? 

 

The Cycle Count Attendant identifies, counts and tracks inventory and analyzes inventory reports with regard to quality, quantity, type, value, product labels, tags, etc. in conjunction with corporate standards.  This position works to improve the Supply Chain by engaging in “best practices” while maintaining close relations with internal customers in alignment with corporate policies and procedures.

 

This position reports directly to the Logistics Manager and will operate daily out of the Indianapolis, IN facility (primarily Mon-Fri, 2:30-11:00p).

 

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

 

Your main responsibilities: 

 

  • Thoroughly and accurately identify inventory, count material and track results following departmental procedures and using appropriate systems;
  • Maintain daily cycle counts, post weekly cycle count reports and distribute misplaced inventory to their proper locations;
  • Identify and recommend revisions to departmental work instructions, processes and procedures;
  • Maintains forklift equipment and complete preventative maintenance checklist;
  • Perform work, promote teamwork and communicate in conjunction with our culture and corporate standards (Safety/Environmental, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Communication, Internal Controls, etc.).

Posting, Reporting, and Work Relations:

 

This role reports to, and will take functional direction from, the Logistics Manager.             

 

Your background

 

We imagine that you have:  

 

  • High School Diploma, GED/HSE/HiSET or equivalent *required
  • 1-year previous experience in cycle count *much preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP *plus
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to work in other departments to cross train or help as needed  

 

  • Competencies:

 

  • Knowledge of best practices related to supply chain management, inventory control, cycle counting; Organize and prioritize work; Identify and problem solve, Detailed-oriented;
  • Positive attitude, team working (offer help when low workload);
  • Escalate when needing help;
  • Material handling equipment (Lift truck, two wheeled trucks, carts, etc.);
  • Operate cranes, hoist, screw jacks, hydraulic jacks;
  • Computer (MS Windows, Lab View, Excel);
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds;
  • WM experience in SAP an advantage;
  • Good at organizing and structuring (5S);
  • Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with company policy and established safety standard.
  • This position requires the incumbent to stand for extended periods of time; bend, stoop, twist, crouch, lift/push/pull, reach, stand, and walk when performing duties.
  • Specific vision abilities include close, distance and peripheral vision.
  • Able to work in a non-climate controlled factory or field environment.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic (including good attendance), strong organizational skills and strong communication skills (written and oral).
