What is the job about?

 

As a Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will play a key role in identifying and implementing strategies to optimize organizational processes, increase throughput, reduce lead times and inventory, lower costs, and enhance product quality. You will apply methodologies such as Lean, Theory of Constraints (TOC), Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement tools to drive impactful changes across the organization.

This role requires strong leadership in process engineering and cross-functional collaboration, contributing directly to value stream improvements and supporting the achievement of corporate growth objectives.

 

This position reports directly to our Continuous Improvement Director and will operate out of the Indianapolis, IN facility in a hybrid function.

 

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. Your main responsibilities:

 

  • Process Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data to assess current performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Methodology Implementation: Apply Lean, TOC, Six Sigma, and other CI tools to design and implement effective solutions.
  • Problem Solving: Lead teams in root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple improvement projects from concept through execution.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with and influence stakeholders across departments such as Sales, Engineering, Order Processing, Planning, Purchasing, Production, Logistics, and Quality.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage data analysis and visualization tools to support decisions and measure impact.
  • Change Management: Drive adoption of new processes and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Communication: Provide regular updates and visibility to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Culture Alignment: Promote teamwork and uphold company standards in safety, quality, communication, and continuous improvement.

 

We imagine that you have: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Technology, Business, Finance, or a related technical field — or equivalent experience — with at least 3–5 years in manufacturing, operations, process engineering, quality, or continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in Lean, TOC, and Six Sigma methodologies (certification preferred).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience training, mentoring, and coaching others in CI tools and practices.
  • Solid understanding of basic statistical concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Minitab, and Power BI.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Knowledge of pump/rotating equipment, hydraulics, and related applications is a plus.
  • Understanding international standards (e.g., HI, UL, FM, NFPA, NSF, CE, DOE) is a plus.
