As our new Configuration Engineering Lead & Project Manager/Engineer, you'll be providing strategic and day-to-day leadership for the Configuration Engineering team while directly managing Light Engineered Project orders for Peerless Pump, ensuring contractual, technical, commercial, and schedule requirements are met with excellence. This role balances hands-on project execution with the responsibility of developing the Configuration Engineering teams capabilities, driving continuous process improvements and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and customer success. What you will be doing:

 

As a key part of the Configuration Engineering team, you'll create impact by building a high-performing engineering team and optimizing project execution processes that improve cycle times, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence across Peerless Pump.

 

Your main responsibilities include:

 

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Configuration Engineering team by setting clear performance expectations, identifying skill gaps, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Manage and engineer all assigned Light Engineered Project orders, serving as the primary customer interface throughout the order lifecycle and ensuring timely resolution of issues
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing workflows, metrics, and performance data to optimize processes, reduce cycle times, and standardize engineering and execution best practices
  • Establish execution strategies, including engineering, sourcing, documentation, and scheduling requirements necessary for successful project delivery and lead cross functional teams to ensure projects progress according to established timelines and contractual commitments.
  • Maintain responsibility for project execution performance, ensuring deliverables are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Evaluate and manage customer-driven changes, assessing impacts to cost, schedule, and resources while supporting change order development and scope negotiations
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate project risks that may impact delivery, profitability, or customer satisfaction

What makes you a great fit:

 

Above all, you're a technically strong engineering leader with proven ability to balance team development and hands-on project execution, combining deep rotating equipment expertise with excellent communication and customer relationship skills. We'd also imagine that you are/have:

 

  • A Four-year technical or engineering degree, or equivalent experience in design, applications, or contract management
  • A Strong background with rotating equipment including drivers, controls, and interface systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project) and working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines

 

It's a plus if you also have:

 

  • Advanced understanding of pump principles, pump construction, hydraulics, and product application
  • Working knowledge of CATIA and/or SAP (MM, SD, and PS modules)
  • Experience driving continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives in a manufacturing or engineered-to-order environment

 

Please note that relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have the authorization to work in the USA without support.

 

The salary range for this position is $82,100 to $120,645  per year.  Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate’s profile. The range listed is just one component of Grundfos’s & Peerless Pump Company total compensation and benefits package for employees. Total compensation includes paid time off, paid holidays, merit increases, bonuses, and employee stock purchase programs, etc. Certain roles are eligible to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization.
