What is the job about?  

 

Step into a pivotal role where technical expertise meets customer connection. As a Technical Engineer in Inside Sales, you'll be the go-to resource for U.S. Groundwater contractors, delivering smart, tailored solutions to product and application inquiries through our dedicated Contractor Hotline. Beyond troubleshooting, you'll actively fuel our sales momentum—collaborating on strategic initiatives, driving project success, and helping shape the future of groundwater solutions. This position reports to the Area Sales Director Water Utility–USA & Canada. This position will have an ongoing interface and interactions with the partners, contractors and other stakeholders. This position is remote, with a strong preference for location residence in Texas, USA

Your main responsibilities 

 

  • Manage the Groundwater Contractor Hotline, serving as a primary point of contact.
  • Support the sales team by preparing monthly partner sales reports.
  • Collaborate with sales to evaluate market pricing and identify competitive opportunities.
  • Leverage data analytics to help prioritize sales initiatives and drive performance.
  • Assist with quotations, order processing, warranty claims, and related reporting.
  • Develop advanced documentation for nonstandard product configurations.
  • Review product specifications and offer technical guidance as needed.
  • Approve formal quotations in accordance with delegated authority protocols.
  • Evaluate complex product applications to ensure appropriate pump selection.
  • Conduct monthly analysis of quotation trends and activity.
  • Coordinate with product engineering on custom product orders and solutions.
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting and installation support for products.
  • Deliver product training for new launches, onboarding, and ongoing employee development.
  • Handle escalated customer complaints and ensure accurate documentation in the CRM system.
  • Monitor and report on complaint trends using CRM data insights.
  • Support product specialists with program management tasks and strategic initiatives.
  • Consistently meet or exceed Customer Support Center quality assurance benchmarks.
  • Represent Grundfos at open houses, trade shows, and industry events alongside DSMs and TSMs.
  • Provide on-site technical services, including system commissioning and contract execution.
  • Collaborate with Groundwater/Irrigation teams to conduct market share research and identify optimal distribution strategies.
  • Participate in global and market-specific network meetings, engaging with key stakeholders from sister companies and the Denmark BDC.

 

Your background 

We imagine that you have:   

 

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical discipline preferred but not required or five to seven years of equivalent experience in a technical role within the pump industry or related field.

  • Expert knowledge of Grundfos Groundwater products and pumping applications.
  • Knowledge of pump calculations and energy estimating.
  • Must possess the ability to create innovative solutions to meet unique applications.
  • Sufficient education and experience to learn, troubleshoot, and train others in applications, the systems which use of Grundfos products.
  • Ability to work with all levels of customers.
  • Ability to communicate highly technical concepts in simplified terms.
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot products specific to the role.
  • Strong Customer Service skills
  • Excellent PC skills with above average knowledge and use of Microsoft Office application programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) as well as strong aptitude for learning and applying new systems and programs.
  • Be open to and manage change.
  • Assisting with closing and executing projects.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel via normal commercial modes both within the US and internationally as required.
