As our new Head of Application Solution Manager – Water Utility, you will be driving the global end-to-end success of the Water Distribution Application by combining deep technical expertise with sharp business acumen — owning strategy, portfolio optimization, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver solutions that meet evolving customer and market needs. What you will be doing

 

As a key part of the Water Utility Application team, you'll create impact by Leading strategic application initiatives that directly shape Grundfos' competitive position and profitable growth in the global water distribution market.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Own and execute the Water Distribution application strategy (2-year, 5-year, 10-year) aligned with WU strategic choices 2027, coordinating across product, sales, and divisional teams
  • As the team lead, challenge team members and cross‑functional partners constructively to accelerate profitable growth, demonstrating agility and responsiveness in a dynamic business environment.
  • Lead application insights and market analysis — mapping value chains, profit pools, competitive landscape, and customer needs across Water Distribution segments
  • Drive product and offering portfolio optimization including lifecycle management, end-of-life decisions, and health monitoring for the Water Distribution application
  • Identify and pilot new business development opportunities across markets, customer segments, and business models to fuel growth
  • Collaborate with functional teams on pricing, cost optimization, P&L ownership, supply chain targets, and performance reporting to ensure profitable growth
  • Actively participate in agile ceremonies — sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews — delivering high-quality sprint outcomes and continuous improvement

What makes you a great fit

 

Above all, you are a strategic and commercially minded leader with broad subject matter expertise in water utility applications, strong cross-functional collaboration skills, and a proven ability to translate market and customer insights into actionable business strategies. We would also imagine that you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Environmental Science
  • 10+ years of experience in application management, product management, or commercial strategy roles within the water/pump industry or related industrial sectors
  • Strong understanding of water distribution systems, market dynamics, and customer value chains
  • Experience with water distribution applications; end to end understanding of the water distribution products, competitors and in-touch with customer needs
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive strategic decisions with measurable business impact
  • Ability to guide and mentor team members to drive quality results
  • Experience working in agile or sprint-based frameworks with comfort in iterative planning and delivery
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
  • Must reside in USA, remote role

It is a plus if you also:

  • Experience with P&L ownership and financial planning at an application or product portfolio level
  • Background in sustainability-driven decision-making and regulatory compliance in water utilities
  • Familiarity with global supply chain coordination and cost optimization in a manufacturing environment

The salary range for this position is $122,100.00 - $198,345.00. Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate’s profile. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation and benefits package for employees. Total compensation includes paid time off, paid holidays, merit increases, bonuses, and employee stock purchase programs, etc.  The salary rates are benchmarked and reflect the target for new hire salaries for the position in this region.
