Purpose of the Job

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is the key new business developer for APAC Water Utility (WU) Japan and

the liaison between Sales team and Marketing and Product Management according to the Water Utility performance unit’s strategy.

This role is responsible for business development of untapped markets and customers, Product management for new product introduction

and maintain product lineup in our current business. This role will be based in Hamamatsu, Japan.

   Business Development:

1.       Business development including investigation, analysis of untapped markets and customers in WU business such as Municipal, ODA projects, new OEM’s.

2.       Business development in accordance with global WU performance unit’s and marketing strategies.

3.       Collaboration and coordination with all relevant stakeholders in Grundfos.

4.       Planning and execution of necessary evets and actions to achieve targets.

5.       Continual growth and development of personal expertise in within products and applications relevant to the market sector and customer base

6.       Deliver added customer value reflecting a sell through mindset, demonstrating an understanding of end customer needs,

          and where relevant, development of joint dealer/end user activities and or key end user relationships 

7.       Task management using SAP CRM.

8.       Align and co-develop strategy deployment plan with direct manager for market in Japan.

9.       Other responsibilities assigned by direct manager.

Product Management:

1. Planning and execution of product launch of group products and the  related materials such as data books.

   Coordination with operation and all relevant internal department for the product launch/introduction.

2. Management of existing products sold in Japan such as data books, price book, pricing,

    Coordination with SC department for stock control and  with local suppliers to maintain, grow business.

3. Analysis of sales trend of each customer and products using SAP(BW/CRM) for assist business development.








Required Minimum Qualifications:

·       University graduate, or Majors/knowledge of engineering, machinery, electric machinery.

·       Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales business environment in industrial or water industry business

        with at least 3 years’ experience of sales development/marketing in the water industry or pump related industry.

·       Knowledge of pump, rotary machine, system solution, control device are preferred if any.

·       Ablility to communicate effectively (listen and speak up) with all levels of the organization internally and with external partners/clients/customers

·       Felxible thinking, Self-motivated and requires minimal supervision

·       Ability to make business presentations at all levels of management and to various sizes of audiences.

·       Good PC skills with above average knowledge and use of Microsoft Office application programs

         (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) as well as skilled aptitude for learning and applying new systems and programs.

·       Be open to and handle change.

·       Ability to meet deadlines and supervise multiple task and priorities.

·       Experience using of  SAP ERP, CRM, BW

·       od interpersonal skills and able to work with people at all levels and under an international environment

·       English skill(TOEIC score more than 700) . Working experience using English.



·       大卒、または工学・機械・電機・その他の関連する専攻・知識のある方

·       工業/設備製品分野、または水処理エンジニアリング/設備工事分野で最低5年以上の営業経験、



·       ポンプ、回転機器、システムソリューション、機器制御に関する技術的な知識と経験があれば尚可

·       社内外の様々な部署/パートナー/クライアント/顧客と隔たりなく、効果的にコミュニケーション(耳を傾け、発言)がとれ、協働できる方

·       プレゼンテーション作成、実施能力

·       業務範囲を必要以上に限定せず、マルチタスクを管理できる方。

·       柔軟な思考を持ち、自発的、計画的な行動がとれる方

·       グローバルなチーム環境で同僚と効果的に協働できる方。

·       自動車普通運転免許

·       英語 (TOEIC 700点以上、または同等)、英語を使った業務経験があれば尚可。

·       PCスキル中級以上:Microsoft Office全般 (Word, Excel, Power Point)

·       基幹システム(SAP等)の使用経験あれば尚可。
