What is the job about?

The primary responsibility of the Global Water Specialist is to assess and mitigate water-related risks and to build water resilience within our supply chain, develop comprehensive water resilience strategies, and engage suppliers in effective water stewardship programs.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate potential water-related risks and costs across the supply chain, considering factors such as water scarcity, quality issues, and regulatory challenges. Utilize tools like the WRI Aqueduct Water Risk Atlas and WWF Water Risk Filter to inform assessments.
  • Developing a heatmap to identify the most impacting areas and suppliers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement strategies that address identified water risks, ensuring alignment with the company's water strategy and other sustainability ambitions
  • Develop and execute plans to engage suppliers to build water resilience through water stewardship, provide guidance and support to help them adopt sustainable water management practices.
  • Create and maintain procedures and best practice guidelines related to water risk management and sustainability, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for internal teams and suppliers to promote awareness and understanding of water sustainability practices.
  • Develop, track and analyze key performance indicators related to water resilience, usage and sustainability efforts, preparing regular reports for stakeholders and identifying areas for continuous improvement.

 

Your background:

We imagine that you have: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Water Resource Management, Sustainability, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven minimum 3 years of experience in water management and sustainability within a corporate or supply chain context.
  • Strong understanding of global water-related challenges, regulatory frameworks, and best practices in water stewardship.
  • Proficiency in using water risk assessment tools and sustainability reporting platforms.
  • Experience in sustainability data management and analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain dynamics, risk management, and procurement practices
  • Having Biodiversity experience is a plus
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into actionable strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including suppliers and regulatory bodies.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience conducting training and workshops
  • Flexibility to navigate complex and dynamic business environments.
  • Rigorous focus on accuracy and thoroughness in processes and reporting.
