Grundfos Pumps Manufacturing is seeking an experienced people leader to join our dynamic team in Fresno, CA as a Sr. Quality Manager.  The Sr. Quality Manager will be responsible for leading the Quality team and its activities with focus on establishing a high-quality culture in the organization, focusing on Customer Centricity, while developing, implementing, and maintaining process controls to assure manufactured products comply to customer requirements and expectations. The Sr. Quality Manager will serve as an integral member of the Operations Leadership team and collaborate closely with Production Managers, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, EHS, Continuous Improvement, Facilities, and Finance. This position reports directly to the Plant Director, and will operate daily from the Fresno, California facility.  Relocation for this position can be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA.


What is the job about? 


Assure the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of the Quality System (IMS) maintaining ISO 9001:2015 and other applicable certifications, including deployment and implementation of applicable business standards and Quality Tools 

  • Monitor and evidence the fulfillment of Company Quality Standards trough Quality KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) and work to achieve targets and continuously improve results including cost control (Material Adders). 
  • Leading projects to achieve defined targets categories such as, Deliveries, Cost reduction, Scrap, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Work with teams to assure timely and correct handling of customer inquiries specific to quality.
  • Be a link between Supplier Quality Organization and the Plant and assume ownership of Supplier Quality Performance, including the implementation of effective corrective actions for quality claims.
  • Evaluate supplier compliance to requirements and specs 
  • Lead validation of quality level on new materials and suppliers, as well as NPI projects and/or VPC process.
  • Administration of Metrology Lab to give proper service to its clients. Including dimensional requirements and to keep all equipment calibrated and working per specified tolerances. 
  • Responsibly and effectively manage department Budget.
  • Coordinate all activities and projects in the department, including 8D response time.
  • Participate and collaborate in the objectives, programs, and procedures with the local leadership team, including insuring a safe and healthy work environment for all team members 


What do you need to apply? 


Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) or above in Mechanical/Electrical or Industrial Engineering, or a combination of training, education, and experience. Additionally, have a minimum of 7-10 years direct work experience in quality training and practices, preferably with a pump manufacturer. Previous experience as a People Leader required for this role. 

  • Strong understanding, and working knowledge, of Quality Tools (PFMEA, Pareto, 8D, Ishikawa, 5S, Kaizen, Control Charts).
  • 6 sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (desirable)
  • Experience in implementing and utilizing measurement systems analysis, statistical process control, process capability, DOE, and other quality techniques
  • Proven ability to successfully lead and complete improvement projects in a team setting.
  • Internal auditing experience (certifications preferred).
  • Excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment with a sense of urgency while maintaining a pleasant disposition.
  • Ability to interact respectfully, effectively, and professionally with customers and co-workers.
  • Understating of Lean Manufacturing Techniques and 5S.
  • The individual must have excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language and be willing to work in a cooperative team environment.
  • Proficient with measuring equipment, blue-print reading, and process improvement techniques.
  • Experienced in ISO 9001 (Lead Auditor certification strongly desired).
  • Superior proficiency using PC based tools (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and proficiency using SAP, ERP and MRP systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% annually, if necessary, both domestic and international. Thus, candidates should be able to maintain valid passport.
