Grundfos Pumps Manufacturer is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join its Water Utility Fresno Site Leader team.  The Quality Manager will be responsible for coordinating the Quality team and its activities with focus on stablishing a Quality Culture in the organization with focus on Customer Centricity; while developing, implementing and maintaining process controls to assure manufactured products comply to customer requirements and expectations. The Quality Manger will collaborate with APU Managers, Supply Chain, AME, EHS, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance and Finance. This position reports directly to the Plant Director, Fresno and will operate daily out of the Fresno, California facility.  Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

 

What is the job about? 

 

  • To assure the implementation, administration and continuous improvement of the Quality System (IMS) maintaining ISO 9001:2015 and other applicable Norms certification; including deployment and implementation of applicable Group Standards and Quality Tools defined by the Group.
  • To monitor and evidence the fulfillment of Company Quality Standards trough Quality KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) and work to achieve targets and continuously improve results including cost control (Material Adders). Supporting or leading projects to achieve targets of scrap, Deliveries, Cost reduction and Continuous Improvement.
  • To assure timely and correct handling of customer complaints.
  • Be a link between Supplier Quality Organization and the Plant and follow up on Supplier Quality Performance, including the implementation of effective corrective actions for quality claims.
  • Evaluate supplier compliance to requirements and specs through Incoming Inspection.
  • To confirm and lead validation of quality level on new materials and suppliers, as well as NPI projects and/or VPC process.
  • Administration of Metrology Lab to give proper service to its clients. Including dimensional requirements and to keep all equipment calibrated and working per specified tolerances. 
  • To responsibly and effectively manage department Budget.
  • Coordinate all activities and projects in the department.
  • Participate and collaborate in the objectives, programs and procedures of health, safety and environment, in addition to the activities that are carried out to comply with the aforementioned.

 

What do you need to apply? 

 

Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) or above in Mechanical/Electrical or Industrial Engineering, or a combination of training, education and experience. Additionally, have a minimum of 7-10 years direct work experience in quality training and practices, preferably with a pump manufacturer.
 

  • Strong understanding, and working knowledge, of Quality Tools (PFMEA, Pareto, 8D, Ishikawa, 5S, Kaizen, Control Charts).
  • 6 sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (desirable)
  • Experience in implementing and utilizing measurement systems analysis, statistical process control, process capability, DOE, and other quality techniques
  • Proven ability to successfully lead and complete improvement projects in a team setting.
  • Internal auditing experience (certifications preferred).
  • Excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment with a sense of urgency while maintaining a pleasant disposition.
  • Ability to interact respectfully, effectively, and professionally with customers and co-workers.
  • Understating of Lean Manufacturing Techniques and 5S.
  • The individual must have excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language and be willing to work in a cooperative team environment.
  • Proficient with measuring equipment, blue-print reading, and process improvement techniques.
  • Experienced in ISO 9001 (Lead Auditor certification strongly desired).
  • Superior proficiency using PC based tools (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and proficiency using SAP, ERP and MRP systems.
  • Must be able to travel up to 15% if necessary. Thus, candidates should be able to maintain valid identification.
