What is the job about?

 

Grundfos is seeking an experienced Product Engineer to join its Industry Operations team. As a Product Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day engineering support of the pump product line in accordance with corporate standards, departmental goals and objectives, as well as new product development or enhancements projects. You may lead special projects for OEM sales, process customer requests, set up new part numbers, bills of material (BOMs), answer technical questions from sales/customers, support Grundfos production for all Factory Product Variant pumps as needed. You will collaborate with sales, service, machine shop, purchasing, assembly, testing, quality, order processing and configuration.  This position reports directly to the CSU manager (Engineered Products manager) and will operate daily out of our Fresno, CA facility. There will be an opportunity for hybrid/remote work after initial training.

Your main responsibilities:

 

  • Process customer requests for creating special pumps in the Customer Service Unit/Engineering Department.
  • Lead project sales (large orders based on OEM requests).
  • Create special pump part numbers, bills of material (BOM) in SAP, either manually or by use of the product configurator system.
  • Categorize and complete Sales Requests for new pumps/extending existing pumps within the time limit set by group/department.
  • Responsible for BOM maintenance and accuracy.
  • Acts as an Engineering liaison to Production for special products.
  • Conduct Verified Test, Hydrostatic Test, Vibration Test or Witness Test for special pumps as needed.
  • Handle/create special projects as needed for special requests with large orders, OEM orders.
  • Work on the shop floor to assist production needs for special pumps.
  • Kaizen process improvement. 

 

Your background: 

 

 

We imagine that you have:  

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering is required. 
  • A minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experience using SolidWorks to create drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to deal with conflicting requests for assistance while maintaining individual and group priorities.
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills. 

 

In Fresno, CA the annual salary range for this position is $76,500 to $95,000. Actual pay will depend upon skill set, experience. Grundfos salary rates are benchmarked and reflect the target for new hire salaries for the position in Fresno, CA.
