As our new External Sales Team Leader, you will lead and develop a team of sales professionals responsible for driving profitable growth and strengthening Grundfos' market position across key customer segments. Job Scope

The External Sales Team Leader is responsible for leading and developing an external sales team to achieve sustainable business growth and strengthen Grundfos' market position. The role drives the execution of the sales strategy within the assigned territory, ensuring effective customer engagement, pipeline development, profitable sales growth, and high-performance team delivery. Through coaching, collaboration, and strong stakeholder management, the position contributes to achieving both short-term business objectives and long-term strategic goals while supporting Grundfos' customer-centric and sustainability ambitions.

What you will be doing

As a key member of the External Sales organization, you will empower your team to deliver innovative water technology solutions that help customers achieve their sustainability, efficiency, and business goals.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, coaching, and developing a team of external sales professionals to achieve and exceed business objectives.
  • Defining and executing regional sales strategies aligned with Grundfos' commercial priorities.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and strategic partners.
  • Monitoring sales performance through KPIs, pipeline management, and regular performance reviews, driving accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborating closely with Marketing, Product Management, Customer Sales Support, and Internal Sales teams to optimize commercial execution.
  • Identifying new business opportunities, market trends, and growth potential within the assigned territory.
  • Ensuring effective customer engagement and promoting a customer-centric approach across the team.
  • Driving adoption and effective use of CRM tools to strengthen sales processes and forecasting accuracy.

To succeed in this role, we imagine that you have:

  • At least 5 years of B2B sales experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a people leadership or sales management role.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding sales targets within a field sales environment.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and talent development capabilities.
  • Experience managing geographically dispersed or remote sales teams.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in an international business environment.

 

It would be an advantage if you also have

  • Experience within the pump, water technology, or industrial equipment industry.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Knowledge of consultative selling and solution-selling methodologies.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization and collaborating across multiple functions.

What we offer

In line with Italian pay transparency regulations:

National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL): Metalworking Industry and Plant Installation – Federmeccanica

The indicative gross annual salary range for this position is EUR 47,000 - EUR 67,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and market benchmarks. In addition, Grundfos offers a competitive total rewards package, including bonus opportunities and employee benefits.
