As our new Field Service Technician, you will be performing on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial pump systems and water technology solutions for customers across your assigned territory. What you will be doing

As a key part of the Commercial Field Service team, you'll create impact by Delivering expert technical support that keeps essential water infrastructure operating reliably for communities and businesses that depend on it.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Perform on-site installation, commissioning, and start-up of commercial pump systems and related equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls issues on pumps, motors, drives, and ancillary systems
  • Execute preventive maintenance programs and emergency repairs to minimize customer downtime
  • Document all service activities, parts usage, and technical findings accurately in service management systems
  • Build strong customer relationships by providing clear communication, technical guidance, and professional service

What makes you a great fit

Above all, you are a skilled, self-motivated technician with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude who takes pride in delivering exceptional field service while working independently. We would also imagine that you have:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience servicing commercial or industrial mechanical/electrical equipment (pumps, motors, HVAC, or similar rotating equipment)
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems including ability to read wiring diagrams and use diagnostic tools (multimeters, megohmmeters)
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding environments including confined spaces and elevated areas

 

It is a plus if you also:

  • Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and PLC-based control systems
  • Knowledge of pump hydraulics, system curves, and water distribution systems
  • Relevant trade certification or technical degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial technology

The salary range for this position is $ 52,100.00 - $60,000.00. Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate’s profile. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation and benefits package for employees. Total compensation includes paid time off, paid holidays, merit increases, bonuses, and employee stock purchase programs, etc. The salary rates are benchmarked and reflect the target for new hire salaries for the position in this region.

Success Criteria

1. Operational & Technical Excellence

  • First-Time Fix Rate (FTFR): High rate of successfully diagnosing and repairing water treatment systems during the initial visit, minimizing the need for return trips.

  • System Uptime: Effectively troubleshooting PLC, PID, and mechanical issues to restore client water treatment operations quickly and minimize costly customer downtime.

  • Testing Accuracy: Precise execution of chemistry analysis and electrical testing using multimeters, ensuring systems are calibrated safely and correctly.

2. Travel & Resilience Management

  • Deployment Readiness: Successfully completing at least 200 days of international travel per year while maintaining high performance and adapting smoothly to varying field environments.

  • Time-Sensitive Execution: Meeting tight deadlines and resolving technical emergencies under pressure without sacrificing work quality.

3. Safety & Compliance

  • Zero Safety Incidents: Consistently conducting rigorous risk assessments before starting every job, ensuring a 100% incident-free track record for themselves and the customer site.

  • Process Adherence: Strict compliance with the company’s well-defined business workflows, service best practices, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

4. Customer & Business Impact

  • Client Independence & Satisfaction: High customer satisfaction scores based on the quality of training and mentoring provided, leaving the client confident in operating their system.

  • Sales Lead Generation: Actively identifying expansion opportunities, upgrades, or new equipment needs during site visits and successfully passing actionable leads to regional Sales partners.

  • Administrative Accuracy: Submitting detailed, accurate service visit reports and travel expense logs on time and in accordance with company policy.
