As our new Product Development Engineer, you will be driving end-to-end hardware design and development of electronic controllers, VFDs, and power-drive systems for Grundfos's next-generation product platforms. What you will be doing
As a key part of the PD WU Controls team, you'll create impact by Architecting robust, safety-critical electronics solutions that power sustainable water systems serving millions of people worldwide..
Your main responsibilities include:
•    Select and architect microcontroller platforms (8/16/32-bit) and design robust electronics architecture for controllers, VFDs, soft-starters, and power-drive systems
•    Develop schematics and PCB layouts using PADS/Altium, and perform circuit simulation using PSPICE, LT-SPICE, or MATLAB Simulink
•    Lead system-level design including magnetics design, thermal calculations, switching/conduction loss analysis, and EMI/EMC design considerations
•    Execute Design FMEA, MTBF analysis, and ensure compliance with safety standards for safety-critical product development
•    Perform board-level testing, system integration, fault finding, and coordinate with firmware teams during code development and validation
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, software, and third-party test labs to meet product requirements and certifications
What makes you a great fit
Above all, you are a hands-on power electronics hardware engineer with deep expertise in embedded controller design, strong analytical skills, and a drive to deliver reliable, scalable product platforms in an agile environment. We would also imagine that you have:
•    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Electronics Engineering
•    7+ years of experience in hardware design within the power electronics domain, including power supply and inverter designs
•    Proficiency in PADS schematic and PCB design tools, with experience in hardware communication interfaces (RS232, RS485, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB)
•    Strong knowledge of control system design (PID), motor control theory (Induction/PMSM/FOC), and interfacing power electronics devices
It is a plus if you also:
•    Experience with system design and modelling in SaberRD or MATLAB Simulink
•    Knowledge of safety-critical product development standards and third-party certification processes
•    Experience managing multiple concurrent development projects in an agile environment
