As our new Lead Software Development Engineer, you'll be developing and enhancing embedded software features for Grundfos pumps and drives, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to advance our common software platform that powers the world's best products. What you will be doing

As a key part of the Embedded Software Development team, you'll create impact by driving innovation in advanced controller products through cutting-edge embedded software, robust test architecture, and continuous integration practices that elevate our entire product portfolio.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Develop VFD-based applications and integrate them with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and IoT platforms in collaboration with system architects and automation engineers
• Contribute to software and test architecture enhancements, governance processes, and best practices across the development lifecycle
• Design and execute unit tests, end-to-end system tests, and reusable test scripts while driving test automation aligned with our CI framework
• Improve software quality through proactive bug fixing, validation, and troubleshooting in lab environments
• Mentor and guide colleagues, sharing technical and agile expertise to continuously elevate team capability and product innovation
• Support configuration management, test bed operations, and field issue resolution across the full value chain

What makes you a great fit

Above all, you're a hands-on embedded software engineer with deep VFD application expertise, strong C programming skills, and a collaborative mindset for driving architectural excellence and continuous improvement. We'd also imagine that you are/have:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering with 15+ years of embedded software development experience
• Strong expertise in C programming, microcontroller architectures, and RTOS (FreeRTOS, ThreadX, or similar) and hands-on VFD application engineering experience with manufacturers such as Siemens, ABB, Danfoss, Schneider, or Rockwell
• Solid understanding of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET) and debugging tools (JTAG, oscilloscope, logic analyzer)

It's a plus if you also:

• Experience with energy efficiency projects or predictive maintenance using VFD data
• Exposure to digital twin or simulation tools for motor-drive applications
• Knowledge of scripting or automation tools for VFD configuration and diagnostics
