CBS CSU Associate CAD Engineer
Job Description

What is the job about?

 

Apply subject matter knowledge with a limited degree of technical  / business insight. Work across functional areas and may work under some degree of supervision.

 

Support of successful fulfilment of GBW manufactured project orders. To support successful delivery and achievement against specification across the stakeholder group within GBW, the Sales company and where required, key end customer contacts and commissioning providers.

 

To develop and improve systems and document control.

 

To use CAD systems to create design plans for buildings and machinery. Produce and control electronic versions of the technical drawings.  Develop and maintain the CAD library.

 

 

Your main responsibilities:

 

  • To develop 3D CAD from concepts and general assembly drawings.
  • Transfer 3D CAD to detailed 2D drawings.
  • Drawing and CAD control and release.
  • Product and component file structure and management. 
  • BIM (Building Information Modelling) implementation plan.
  • Support of Installation & Operation Manual (IOM) process.
  • Comply with any reasonable management request within the bounds of the terms and conditions of employment.
  • Support the implementation and development of GPS. 

 

Statutory Health and Safety accountabilities include:

 

  • Ensuring that the working area is safe for both self and colleagues at all times in order to comply with H&S standards. Use PPE as supplied, report any dangerous occurrences, accidents or potential hazards immediately.
  • Responsibility for personal safety and safety of co-workers, contractors and visitors.  Complies with the Health & Safety at Work, etc. Act 1974 and any other Acts and Regulations which may be equally relevant.
  • Conducting duties in line with Material Safety data sheets, Health and Safety Operating Instructions, Safe Systems of Work, Control Instructions, Controlled Drawings, etc… relative to place of work.

 

 

Your Background:

 

•Experience with Catia V5.

•Experience with Revit (preferred).

•Customer focused with good interpersonal skills and business processes appreciation.

•Sound knowledge of dimensioning ang tolerancing. 

•Knowledge of engineering design principles. 

•Knowledge of material properties (preferable).

•An understanding of manufacturing processes methods.

•Self motivated and able to work on own initiative whilst also being able to work as an effective part of a team.

•Competent with IT and the MS Office software packages (Word, Excel & PowerPoint, MS Project etc).

•Ability to meet demanding deadlines.
