As our new Service Technician, you will be managing end-to-end workshop and field service activities — from inspecting and repairing returned pumps to delivering professional reports and ensuring every job meets the highest safety and quality standards. This position will report directly to the Head of Service & Solutions for the Northeast and will be a Remote role with a preference for a candidate that resides in North Carolina, or Virginia with willingness to travel along the East coast to various customer sites as needed.
What you will be doing:
As a key part of the Service Delivery team, you'll create impact by Delivering first-class service that exceeds customer expectations while nurturing a strong safety culture across every interaction and repair.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Conduct inspection, fault analysis, warranty qualification, repair, and performance testing of returned pumps in the workshop and at customer sites
- Register customer information, perform risk assessments, and clean pumps according to EHS sanitary requirements upon receival
- Process warranty claims in FAS, report product quality issues in QIP, and prepare quotations for non-warranty repairs
- Deliver professional repair reports to customers, coordinate packing and shipping of completed units, and handle merchant returns and credit processing
- Perform regular workshop maintenance including calibration and upgrade of equipment and tools, and conduct workplace safety inspections
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, service partners, and internal stakeholders while communicating Safety, Health, and Environment matters
What makes you a great fit:
Above all, you are a detail-oriented technical problem solver with strong customer service skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently in a remote, travel-heavy role. We would also imagine that you have:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical discipline (mechanical, electrical, or related field)
- A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a service, repair, or workshop environment.
- Experience servicing Pumps, motors, controls, or have rotating equipment experience.
- Proficiency with SAP, MS Word, and MS Excel
It is a plus if you also:
- Knowledge of warranty claim processes and quality improvement reporting
- Familiarity with health & safety regulations and risk assessment procedures in a workshop or field service setting
The salary range for this position is $25.62 to $37.37 per hour. Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate’s profile. The range listed is just one component of Grundfos’s total compensation and benefits package for employees.
