What is the job about?  

Peerless Pump Company, a Grundfos subsidiary, is seeking an experienced District Sales Manager to join its Sales and Marketing team.  The District Sales Manager will be responsible for the management and development of Peerless Pump sales through business partners (distributors, agents, dealers and sales representatives) and direct sales to contractors and end users in the Mid-Atlantic region for Industry and Water Utility Markets. The DSM will lead the regional efforts to facilitate orders and will present opportunities to U.S. Sales Leaders for final resolution.  Must meet or exceed established targets. This position reports directly to the National Sales Manager, Water Utility & Industry Business Unit and will operate remotely out of the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States.

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support. One must reside in the territory, Mid-Atlantic, USA.

 

Your main responsibilities:   

  • Selects and manages business partners in a given region and market.
  • Formulates and implements sales strategies to promote Peerless Pump products directly and through business partners.
  • Calls on contractors and end users to solicit business either directly or with business partners.
  • Understand and utilize e-business tools and programs.
  • Facilitate product and business tool training.Ability to read, understand and make comments to Project Specifications and Project Drawings pertinent to the Peerless Pump Company product offerings
  • Ability to negotiate pricing and Terms and Conditions, when necessary, pertinent to the Peerless Pump Company product offerings.
  • Visit and perform audits of business partner’s capability to promote Peerless Pump products, giving feedback on a regular basis.
  • Develop and deliver effective product presentations for all sizes of audiences for both internal and external customers.
  • Provide leadership and direction to business partners.
  • Provide sales reports and business planning documents to management as required.     

 

Your background  

We imagine that you have:    

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related area. Additionally, have a minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in the field.

  • Sales experience in industrial and rotating equipment required
  • Understand pumps and their markets and applications therein.
  • Professional sales skills including key account strategies and plans. 
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective product presentations for all sizes of audiences for both internal and external customers.
  • Comprehensive verbal and writing communication skills.         
  • Will be required to travel up to 50% if necessary. Thus candidates should be able to maintain valid identification.
