What is the Job all about?

 

The role focuses on aligning procurement strategies with business objectives while fostering strong supplier relationships to deliver long-term value. Reporting directly to the CoE Head, the Category Buyer plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer satisfaction as a trusted business partner for Group Functions and stakeholders. This position is responsible for executing Value-Based Sourcing within the category, driving continuous optimization of operational excellence, innovation, and sustainability from suppliers, and ensuring Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) improvements.

 

A key focus area for this role is managing end‑to‑end software sourcing activities, including new software acquisitions, subscription renewals, and optimization of our software supplier base.

 

 

Your main responsibilities:

 

Provide support for sourcing and relationship management activities in close collaboration with Category Managers.

 

Strategic Sourcing Process related activities:

  • Support the development and execution of sourcing strategies using established purchasing tools.
  • Prepare data and fact packs for supplier negotiations and lead tendering processes to deliver value and savings.
  • Conduct market intelligence research to analyze cost drivers, trends, and industry best practices.
  • Lead and execute software sourcing projects covering new software needs, renewals, expansions, and license optimization
  • Manage software subscription lifecycles, ensuring timely renewals and proactive negotiation of commercial and contractual terms.”
  • Collaborate closely with IT stakeholders to understand application roadmaps and translate them into sourcing and renewal strategies.”
  • Maintain data transparency and support reporting activities for informed decision-making.

 

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Support preparation and facilitation of business reviews
  • Drive continuous performance management and development of key software vendors, ensuring optimal value and innovation within the software portfolio.

 

 

Your background:

  

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, commerce, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in indirect sourcing, preferably within IT & Telecom in a Multinational company
  • Strong understanding of the IT industry and its dynamics.
  • Experience with software procurement, subscription-based licensing models, and managing software renewals is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of best practices and relevant business support systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively. Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Results-driven and action-oriented mindset.
  • Travel Expectations: maximum of 10%
