Grundfos Manufacturing is seeking a dedicated Quality Technician to join our team in Sunderland. The Team

Our team consists of a dedicated quality engineer and three skilled quality technicians. We pride ourselves on our strong work culture, which emphasises value-based service and fosters close relationships with our customers and key stakeholders. While the work can be demanding, we strike the perfect balance between hard work and having fun, ensuring a supportive and enjoyable environment for everyone.

What is the job about?

As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of work produced by groups or individuals meets company requirements. Your main goal is to maintain high standards and improve quality performance across the company.

Responsibilities include:

  • Verify dimensional accuracy using gauges and other measuring equipment.
  • Ensure gauging and measuring equipment is calibrated and controlled to maintain accuracy.
  • Check assemblies, sub-assemblies, and products against specifications.
  • Assist and instruct groups and individuals encountering difficulties.
  • Conduct inspections, including goods inwards, work in progress, and final inspection.
  • Maintain the document and data control system covered by the ISO9001 system.
  • Carry out stock management activities within the Quality function.
  • Liaise with other plants to ensure common quality standards are achieved and maintained.
  • Analyse, record, and report on customer complaints and returns.
  • Develop and implement schemes to improve general and quality performance.
  • Assist in or conduct internal/supplier audits to evaluate and approve quality systems.
  • Comply with the requirements of the company's Integrated Management System (IMS), including ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001.

Working Hours and Location

This role is onsite in our Sunderland site, working 37 hours per week. We offer flexi time with working hours between 7 AM and 6 PM.

What do you need to apply?

  • Time served or HNC in a mechanical/electrical discipline.
  • Experience working in a Quality role in a busy manufacturing facility.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with SAP would be adventurous but not essential
  • Knowledge of or experience with pumps and pumping systems.
