We are currently seeking a highly motivated Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our manufacturing plant in Sunderland. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and drive towards operational excellence. You will be responsible for championing Lean and continuous improvement principles and promoting a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organisation. You will be a key member of the CI network within Grundfos Group and will liaise with other Western Europe plants to share best practice. What is the job about?

As a Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will be responsible for driving improvements in productivity, quality, and delivery across the business. Key responsibilities include developing Lean competences within the team, supporting workplace organisation, driving Kaizen events, executing value stream improvements, and leading weekly and monthly action plans and performance assessment.

 

Key responsibilities include:

• Work within the plant and across functional areas with limited supervision.

• Support and coordinate the development and implementation of processes.

• Drive Kaizen events.

• Apply subject matter knowledge and demonstrate technical/business insight.

• Work with sister plants and organisations to share best practice.

• Maintain local documentation.

• Oversee all aspects of projects (including step change projects) from start to finish, so that they are completed on time and within budget.

• Execute value stream improvements.

• Involve and develop employees and create success stories.

• Lead the weekly and monthly result reporting and associated improvement TIP.

• Lead sustainable improvement of 5S performance throughout the plant.

 

Key Success Factors of the role

• Plant Grundfos Production System performance as measured by self and independent assessment.

• Improve direct and indirect productivity measures.

• Improve plant quality and delivery measures.

 

Your Background:

• Relevant degree or equivalent work experience.

• 3-4 years of relevant lean production experience, including application of Lean tools and techniques.

Good leadership and communication skills are essential for this position, as the Continuous Improvement Specialist will be responsible for driving improvements in productivity, quality, and delivery across the business.
