CAD Design Engineer

Grundfos Manufacturing, based in Sunderland, is currently seeking a highly motivated CAD Design Engineer to join our engineering team.

 

What is the job about?

As a CAD Design Engineer, you will support the successful fulfilment of manufacturing project orders and ensure successful delivery and achievement against specifications. Additionally, you will leverage your expertise with CAD systems to create design plans for buildings and machinery, produce and control electronic versions of technical drawings, and develop and maintain our CAD library.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Produce 3D models and 2D drawings of our hydro-booster and 'off-site built' packaged plant product ranges
  • Create drawings and documents for approval by sales and customers in collaboration with system engineers
  • Develop and maintain our CAD data library
  • Build professional relationships with internal stakeholders and keep them informed of model and drawing progress

 

Your Background

 

  • At least 2 years of experience working in a CAD designing role
  • Qualified in a mechanical or product design discipline
  • Detail-oriented and able to work individually and with a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working accurately and quickly with technically complex information
  • Experience with Revit and Catia V5 is advantageous, as is knowledge of BIM
  • Customer-focused with good interpersonal skills and business process appreciation
  • Sound knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing, engineering design principles, and material properties
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and methods
  • Competency with IT and MS Office packages

 

We would also be open to hearing from anyone who is newly educated in CAD Design or qualified with limited experience; and looking to start a career in a role similar to this.
