Project Manager – Water Treatment

 

Grundfos Water Treatment Italy is looking for a passionate and results-oriented Project Manager ready to join our dynamic team and contribute to the success of our projects. In this role you will manage all the aspects of a water treatment system delivery project from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget. 

 

From contract signature Project manager is the main contact person to customer and, working together with internal stakeholders, manages the delivery process from contract signing to the end of contractual obligations  

Where relevant: Project manager shall also organize resources for installation, collaborate with commissioning team, and handing over, as well as trouble shooting activities. 

 

Your main responsibilities:  

  • Review and agree on the scope, goals, and objectives with the Sales Department 

  • Examine the budget and gross margin as initially sold 

  • Develop and coordinate the project completion schedule with relevant departments 

  • Provide appropriate orientation for all personnel involved in the project 

  • Evaluate quality requirements in collaboration with the Quality Department 

  • Conduct risk assessments when necessary 

  • Identify and organize internal and external resources needed to complete the project. 

  • Hire qualified consultants for specific tasks when required 

  • Review and refine aspects such as piping and instrumentation diagrams, operational philosophy, and main item coding 

  • Analyze and discuss project specifications with departments involved 

  • Prepare specialized documents 

  • Follow the project plan for execution 

  • Utilize inventory stocks where feasible 

  • Monitor project progress and implement recovery plans if needed 

  • Align technical details in vendor quotations and oversee vendor follow-ups 

  • Perform quality checks of completed work regularly with the project team to ensure compliance with requirements 

  • Manage the change orders effectively 

  • Write project-related reports as needed 

  • Develop operation and maintenance manuals 

  • Approve and monitor all project-related expenditure within the budget 

 

  • Track and report on gross margin and on-time delivery performance and investigate the root cause of any variances 

 

We imagine that you have:   

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/chemical/environmental engineering or equivalent 

  • Previous experience of 5 years in mechanical design of C/I plants, preferred water treatment plants 

  • Solid knowledge of the plans, processes and activities within the functional area in Manufacturing Engineering 

  • Possess a great understanding of the relevant systems, local laws and regulations where applicable, for the area Manufacturing Engineering 

  • Knowledge of the English language to operate in a multinational environment 

  • Experience driving developed processes within Manufacturing Engineering 

  • Ability to lead a business process within Manufacturing Engineering
