What is the job about?
The Senior Finance Specialist, Architecture & Systems plays a critical role in shaping how Grundfos finance operations. This position is ideal for someone who combines deep finance expertise with a strong interest in financial systems, process design and end-to-end delivery of improvement projects.
In this role, you will act as a bridge between finance, IT and business stakeholders – owning initiatives related to planning and financial performance management reporting tools, automation, data models and system enhancements that improve insight, scalability and efficiency across the finance function.
Your main responsibilities:
- Act as a financial specialist advising managers and/or other finance functions on specialized financial matters/cases on FP&A domain.
- Develop and maintain a strong collaboration with other finance functions in Group and/or Performance Units.
- Perform high quality analysis to strengthen the business decision-making process to improve performance and/or securing compliance to global and local policies and procedures.
- Optimization of processes within the area of functional responsibility
- Maintain a high professional level of knowledge within the functional area.
- Apply to best practice, global standards, policies and processes within a specialized financial area.
Your background
We are seeking a finance professional with strong FP&A domain expertise and a proven track record in finance systems, process design, and transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate combines solid financial fundamentals with hands‑on experience improving how finance operates through technology, standardization, and data‑driven design.
Experience & Education
- Typically 5–6 years of progressive experience in FP&A, controlling, finance transformation, or systems‑oriented finance roles
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent practical experience considered
Finance Process & Domain Expertise
- Advanced understanding of end‑to‑end FP&A and controlling processes, including how they are designed, integrated, and enabled by systems
- Strong knowledge of Accounting and Corporate Finance principles, with the ability to translate accounting logic into planning, forecasting, and performance‑management frameworks
- Hands‑on experience as a power user or process owner within:
- Financial Planning, Forecasting, and Budgeting processes
- Product Cost Controlling and cost‑allocation frameworks
- Profitability Analysis, margin reporting, and management performance tracking
- Management Controlling and variance analysis
Systems, Data & Tools Capability
- Mandatory experience working in an SAP ERP environment, with a solid understanding of finance and controlling modules and data structures
- Proven ability to work closely with IT, data, and external partners to define business requirements, support system enhancements, and drive finance‑owned solutions
- Demonstrated experience acting as a bridge between finance users and system/technical teams, ensuring finance requirements are correctly translated into system design
- Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Technical Expertise
- Hands‑on experience or strong functional understanding of:
- SAP BW (Business Warehouse) and finance‑related data flows
- Power BI or similar BI tools for financial reporting, dashboards, and analytics
- IBM Planning Analytics / TM1 or comparable enterprise planning platforms
- Familiarity with concepts such as data models, hierarchies, master‑data governance, system controls, and reconciliation between ERP and planning/reporting tools
Ways of Working & Collaboration
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively in cross‑functional, transformation‑driven environments, working with FP&A, Accounting, IT, and business stakeholders
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex system logic, process changes, and financial concepts in a clear and pragmatic way
- Comfortable working in environments undergoing process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement
- Proficient in written and spoken English, suitable for international project communication and documentation
