Senior Supplier Quality Engineer
Job Description

What is the job about?  

The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer is the technical liaison between internal stakeholders (Purchasing, R&D, Operations, QE, etc) and suppliers to implement and monitor advanced quality planning in the procurement process for new product introductions and throughout the product life cycle, identifying and developing cost-effective technical solutions that resolve issues related to product quality, consistent supply and yield, and developing approaches to improve quality and reduce cost.  This position reports directly to the Water Utility & AMR Supplier Quality Manager and will operate on a hybrid schedule out of the Brookshire, TX facility. 

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support. Sponsorship is not available for applicants for US Work visa status for this opportunity (no sponsorship is available for H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, CPT or any other employment-based visa.  

 

Your main responsibilities:  

·            Quality approval of new suppliers.

·            Veto right based on quality for supplier selection for new products in the assigned categories/technical groups.

·            Define an audit plan for his/her supply base, based on historical results and future expectations, with cooperation with Category Managers, local buyers and SQM groups.

·            Communicate the audit plan, involve the SQE organization, if needed. Take follow-up on the audit actions.

·            Develop the given supplier base, which can fulfil the current and future requirements.

·            Escalate quality issues to potential red alert to Management.

·            Support purchasing actions associated with Win in the US initiative. 

·            Planning and execution of defined activities within Supplier Resilience, BABAA (Build America, Buy America Act) compliance and product sales growth initiatives.

·            Request and follow up improvements from vendors supplying Grundfos in North America.

·            Lead escalation in cases where urgent issues like supplier related production stop or recall (Red alert case handler), fast stock replacement, etc.

·            Support and lead component VPC in North America sites for BABAA compliance.

·            Support and lead Supplier Part Approval process (SPA) during VPC phase.

·            Build active cooperation on local, regional and/or global level of SQE / SQD members.

·            Support Purchasing and organization during BABAA implementation and strategy.

·            Work and carry out actions and tasks based on his/her supplier performance review and / or audits.

·            Quality training of employees in cases where Quality department is involved: Basic SAP / Q module, PowerBi, QIP, VPC process, Quality Tools

 

Your background 

We imagine that you have:   

·             Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field (Mechanical, Electro-mechanical or   Materials Engineering degree preferably).

·            Technical knowledge or experience on casting and machining processes preferably but not required.

·            Experienced on APQP, PPAP and Run and Rate processes

·            Experienced on System, Process and Product audits -ISO 9001:2015 standard experienced (other standards would be good to have, but not required)

·            Experience on leading projects

·            Ability to travel 30-50%
