As our new Sales Engineer, Commercial Building Services – Data Centers, you will be providing advanced application engineering, technical consultation, and solution development for pump systems, HVAC hydronics, and cooling infrastructure within the rapidly growing U.S. Data Center market — serving as the go-to subject matter expert for customers, consulting engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders from specification through commissioning. What you will be doing
As a key part of the Commercial Building Services – Data Centers team, you'll create impact by Delivering engineered pumping and hydronic solutions that optimize critical cooling infrastructure for data centers, directly driving specification wins, market share growth, and long-term customer partnerships. This role is hybrid in the Brookshire, Texas site.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Perform application engineering and technical consultation for pump systems, HVAC hydronics, cooling infrastructure, controls integration, and related data center applications — evaluating system requirements and recommending optimized designs
- Collaborate with consulting engineers, design firms, end users, and contractors to develop application-specific pumping and hydronic solutions tailored to critical facility requirements
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert on Data Center projects throughout specification, design, procurement, implementation, and commissioning phases
- Communicate the Grundfos product and engineering value proposition to drive data center sales, working closely with the broader data center team to position solutions and support specification development
- Maintain and grow expertise in emerging pumping technologies, cooling methodologies, and data center industry innovations to ensure best-in-class technical recommendations
- Register and manage opportunities and revenue pipeline in the global CRM tool, contributing to revenue growth objectives and project positioning
What makes you a great fit
Above all, you are a technically rigorous engineer with hands-on pumps and hydronic systems experience, strong analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate complex engineering requirements into practical, optimized solutions for demanding data center environments. We would also imagine that you have:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other technical engineering discipline
- 3–5 years of experience in application engineering, systems engineering, or technical consulting involving pumping systems, hydronic systems, or HVAC cooling infrastructure
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of pump selection, sizing, and system design for commercial, industrial, or critical facility environments
- Proven experience in technical sales engineering or solution development, with the ability to communicate complex engineering concepts to diverse stakeholder audiences
It is a plus if you also:
- Direct data center industry experience, including familiarity with cooling architectures, redundancy requirements, and critical facility infrastructure
- Experience with controls integration, variable speed drive applications, or building automation systems as they relate to pumping and hydronic systems
- Familiarity with CRM platforms, engineering selection software, and business analytics tools
You'll also be available for travelling up to 25 days per year.

The salary range for this position is $68,400.00 - $105,000.00. Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate’s profile. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation and benefits package for employees. Total compensation includes paid time off, paid holidays, merit increases, bonuses, and employee stock purchase programs, etc. The salary rates are benchmarked and reflect the target for new hire salaries for the position in this region.
