Systems Engineer
Job Description

Are you passionate about leading the development of complex systems and ensuring that mechanical, electrical, software, and digital solutions come together into a coherent product? Do you thrive in environments where success depends on balancing customer needs, technical excellence, business objectives, and collaboration across multiple teams?

Then join us in our mission to pioneer smarter solutions for moving and transforming water, reducing energy consumption, and improving quality of life around the world.

As our new Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in a strategic platform initiative, driving the overall systems engineering effort across the full product lifecycle. You will serve as the technical integrator and "glue role" that connects disciplines, teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of complex systems.

What you will be doing
As Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a holistic view of the system and ensuring that all relevant Systems Engineering activities are covered throughout the lifecycle.

Your main responsibilities include:
Systems leadership – Own the overall systems engineering approach and ensure alignment between business goals, customer needs, requirements, architecture, verification, validation, and delivery.
Requirements and architecture governance – Ensure requirements are defined, aligned, traceable, and translated into a robust system architecture.
Systems engineering deployment – Ensure all required Systems Engineering process roles are covered, either directly or through delegation to the appropriate specialists and teams.
Decision making and risk management – Drive system-level decisions by balancing performance, cost, quality, complexity, and risk.

What makes you a great fit
You are a strong systems thinker who naturally sees the bigger picture while understanding the interactions between disciplines, teams, and stakeholders. You are comfortable leading through influence and enabling others to succeed.

We imagine you have:
Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
Significant experience working with complex products or systems involving multiple engineering disciplines.
Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements management, architecture, integration, verification, and validation.
Proven ability to lead technical discussions and drive decisions across organizational boundaries.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Nice to have
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML.
Experience with requirements traceability and digital engineering practices.
Experience from large-scale product development programs involving multiple teams and locations.
Knowledge of Agile or SAFe ways of working.
