Students & Apprenticeships
Student Assistant in Portfolio Optimisation Excellence
Job Description

Are you looking for a Student Assistant position? Would you like to kick-start your career working on a cross-functional project where we challenge and optimise the product portfolio of Grundfos?

This is your chance to work with some of the sharpest minds as you join a team focusing on optimising the product portfolio within our four Divisions. In collaboration with Product Management and a broad set of stakeholders across the organisation, our team creates the transparency necessary to take phase out decisions in the existing portfolio. By slimming our portfolio, we simplify our offerings towards customers and make the portfolio easier to maintain.

In parallel, we are implementing processes and tools across Grundfos to strengthen the work and communication on product pruning and complexity reduction to make it a sustainable product management discipline in the future.

You will become part of the 3PO Team (Product Portfolio Pruning & Optimisation), which is a team of 9 highly dedicated colleagues. We focus on utilising our individual competences and strengths and a close collaboration within the team is of high value. This way, we achieve a high team spirit and the best results for Grundfos. We are looking forward to welcoming you to our team and hear about your ideas.

One of our former Student Assistants describes her time with us like this:

“Being a Student Assistant in the 3PO Team has developed me both personally and professionally. I have been given the opportunity to work with a lot of different stakeholders and types of analysis. It has given me a lot of new skills and relations, which I for sure can use in the future. My time in the team has been one of the reasons why I will continue my career in Grundfos as a Global Graduate.”

What is the job about?

We believe that everyone in Grundfos has passion and potential - as well as the power to influence. As a Student Assistant, you will join the team as any other full-time colleague.

The nature of the work can be considered as a “management consultant” in the sense that we are typically spending a period together with a stakeholder in solving a specific problem – often requiring a broad set of skills to solve that problem – or drive a cross-Divisional improvement project.

Your tasks could for example be:

  • Developing and implementing processes, workflows, or tools in close collaboration with users
  • Facilitate workshops with stakeholders
  • Collect and analyse data – and take the analysis one step further to actionable insights
  • Prepare decision making material for product portfolio optimisation
  • Get your head around complex and big data sets to extract the most important insights
  • Build and execute a communication strategy and spread the word on internal SoMe
  • Arrange, promote, and execute events

We are a quite diverse team in terms of skills, and we do not expect you to excel in all above tasks. We will do what we can to tailor your work around your skills and desires and the skills we already have in the team.

We expect you to work 15-20 hours per week at our headquarters in Bjerringbro with flexibility to work from home as well. The work time will vary from week to week, and we will find a suitable balance together. We are of course ready to schedule your working hours around exams and other school work.

This position is paid.

What do you need to apply?

  • You are studying a bachelor’s or master’s degree within business, economics, data science, or engineering (in its broadest sense)
  • You work in a structured and analytical manner when presented for many inputs, data, processes, and stakeholders
  • You show initiative and work proactively and independently on new assignments as this will help you make the most of your time with us
  • You have an international outlook and speak and write English fluently
  • You have grades in the highest quartile
