Research & Development
Senior Product Development Engineer
Job Description

Are you ready to shape the future of Water Management Technology?

Do you thrive in a role where your technical leadership drives innovation across teams?
At Grundfos, we’re looking for a Senior Product Development Engineer with a strong system engineering mindset to join our Commercial Building Service Division. You’ll be part of the Product Development function, responsible for future innovations in our key product groups: MAGNA and MIXIT®. This position is based at our headquarters in Bjerringbro, Denmark.

What is the job about?

As our new Senior Product Development Engineer, you’ll lead the technical development of future circulator and boxed solutions within CBS. You’ll be the central link between electronics, mechanical, and software teams—ensuring that system architecture is defined, aligned, and executed across platforms. From initial scoping to production handover, you’ll own the technical direction and quality of the projects.

“You get to follow and drive the projects end-to-end from a technical perspective. The technical aspects of the projects will be yours. In this role, you will have a significant impact on the direction moving forward in the projects you are responsible for. Your opinion matters,” says Capability Manager, Charlotte Jensen about this role.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Define and drive specifications, design, implementation, verification, and documentation
  • Decide on architecture and align solutions across platforms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and fulfill system requirements
  • Set the technical direction and ensure quality throughout development
  • Monitor progress and ensure alignment with project goals

Your background

We imagine that you have:

  • Proven experience in multi-domain product and system development
  • System engineering certification (e.g., INCOSE level B)
  • Solid technical leadership experience—perhaps as a senior development engineer or technical project manager
  • Familiarity with electronics and software development
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering (or higher)
  • Strong people skills and the ability to motivate technical specialists
  • Proficiency in English and ease working in a global organization

What’s in it for you?

You’ll be an invaluable part of our global team—a diverse network of pioneers guiding others to see possibilities, not problems. You’ll help spread our optimistic, can-do attitude and make a difference in global projects. We support your career journey with tools to grow your leadership craft, whether in your field or in areas like diversity & inclusion, coaching, and culture.

In addition, your day-to-day benefits include:

  • A diverse, inclusive environment with employee-led forums
  • Flexible working hours and workstation equipment for home office
  • Up to 3 days paid leave for volunteering
  • Annual bonuses, health insurance, parental support, and well-being programs
  • Access to the Grundfos Academy for personal and professional development
  • Opportunities to engage in sports and cultural events with colleagues
