Senior Mechanical Concept Specialist

What is the job about? 
 


As our new Senior Mechanical Concept Specialist, you will play an important role in assessing, creating, and refining mechanical designs as part of our Modularization Projects. Your key responsibility will be to assess and mature ideas, early stage concepts and hypothesis spinning out of our modularization projects into tangible concepts and bringing these to life in 3D CAD and physical demonstrators. You will gain a close collaboration with our Chief Architects, Modularization Specialists, Simulation Specialists and Project Managers, where you together will create the future foundation for all major Grundfos product portfolios in close collaboration with our four Divisions.

More specific you will:

•    Be an active and important member of our large cross-organizational modularization projects, where you will be responsible for the conceptual and design work.
•    Take part in idea generation within the modularization projects.
•    Transform modularization ideas into rough sketches, 3D based concepts, mature designs and finally into virtual or physical product demonstrators in close collaboration with production.
•    Provide mechanical concept and design support to relevant module management activities.
•    Be responsible for preparing developed modules for easy implementation in development projects by creating or requesting Virtual Product or Parametric CAD Templates
•    Enrich modules for easy re-use across our four Divisions

If you take up this challenge you will be based in Bjerringbro, Denmark and join the department of Mechanical Modules & Simulations. 
You will join a young, dedicated team in a highly professional environment with a strong technical commitment located primarily in Denmark and also China. 
You will gain a close collaboration with your colleagues in the department and use them for knowledge sharing, competence build-up and support to ensure that we utilize each other’s competences in the best possible way. You will report to Senior R&D Manager, Anders Bøge Jensen.

Your background:

We are looking for a self-driven person who thrives in having technical ownership in projects and who with the person's drive and experience can contribute to Grundfos’ Modularization Journey.

You manage to balance being creative and conceptual in the idea phase with being systematic and structured in the latter part of our modularization projects. Finally, you manage to balance high-quality deliverables with fast execution and effectiveness”, says your new manager, Anders Bøge Jensen.


Furthermore, we imagine that you have:
 

•    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
•    Min. 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
•    Skilled in developing and maturing mechanical concepts.
•    Proficiency in 3D design, preferably CATIA.
•    Fluent in written and verbal English.
•    Experience and understanding of production processes, such as forming, casting, welding and injection molding.
•    Preferably familiar with conceptual design tools such as Ansys Discovery.
•    Preferably knowledge of pumps in commercial, domestic, industrial, and utility spaces.
