Lead System Engineer, Product Development

Are you looking for a position where you will have a substantial influence on future technology decisions? We are looking for a lead engineer confident with driving core business development projects based on engaging team effort.
 

At Grundfos, we develop state-of-the-art reliable and sustainable water management technology for both private and commercial use. 
 

You will be joining the Product Development function within the Commercial Building Service Division. We are responsible for all development activities and the future innovations of 2 key product groups; MAGNA and MIXIT®.
 

You will be dedicated to the Circulator and Boxed Solutions within CBS (Commercial Building Service). The position is located at our headquarters in Bjerringbro, Denmark.
 

“You get to follow and drive the projects end-to-end from a technical perspective. You will be involved from initial scoping to production, sales, and optimizations. The technical aspects of the projects will be yours,” says Henning Nørregaard Jensen, R&D Director.
 

What is the job about?
As our Lead System Engineer you will be taking the lead on the technical part of the future solutions. You will be a central link between project members working on electronics, mechanical and software development, management, and many other functions. The role will connect you with a vast network across Grundfos holding the responsibility of driving the technical solution of future products in the right direction.
 

Based on system engineering principles you will make sure that the architecture is defined and captured into system elements which are executable by the system elements teams. This will be done in close collaboration with the development teams, the manufacturing engineering teams, the product owners and other relevant functions.
 

Your activities will include: 

  • Drive the scope, preparation, specification, design, implementation and documentation.
  • Decide on appropriate architecture and solutions and align these across platforms.
  • Actively communicate with other functions to gather information on technical system requirements and make sure all developed systems fulfill these.
  • Actively collaborate with technical project members and set the direction of technical solutions for our coming products.
  • Monitor development and ensure technical quality throughout projects.

Your background
We are looking for a person with significant people skills and the ability to motivate and encourage a group of highly skilled technical specialists. With your senior capacity, you lead the project to the desired outcome based on solid technical solutions. 
 

You are familiar with and enjoy working in a complex global organization with many different stakeholders.
 

Key requirements:

  • Proven technical experience in multi-domain product and system development. 
  • System engineering certification, like INCOSE level B.
  • Solid, proven experience with technical leadership – maybe as a technical project manager, senior development engineer or similar.
  • Experience with development, preferably within electronics – experience with mechanics and software is a great plus.
  • A bachelor´s engineering degree as a minimum.
  • Proficient in English and familiar with a global work environment.
