At Grundfos, we now offer you the opportunity to become part of the IT Project Manager team that consists of 23 highly engaged and skilled colleagues who work together across Bjerringbro, Shanghai, Manila, Houston and Budapest. This position is located at our HQ in Bjerringbro, Denmark. As a Lead Project Manager, you actively take ownership of the way we manage IT projects in PMO & Project Execution.

What do we offer?

The unit is part of our Business Design department, which acts as a link to stakeholders within the Grundfos organization and oversees setting the strategic direction for IT. There are currently approx. 700 employees in Grundfos IT, and we complete around 170 projects a year.

You will report to Senior Manager, Carsten Clausen and you can look forward to stepping into a diverse and innovative team:

”The department’s culture is characterised by a high level of commitment and a willingness to help each other out. We are tireless in our ambition and work hard to live up to our responsibility to develop our business through IT projects. At the same time, we are highly focused on the department’s continued development, which you are expected to actively influence and participate in. This necessitates continuous cultivation of your project management skills as here, you are the leader of the project, emphasis on the manager,” explains Carsten Clausen, Senior Manager.

What is the job about?

As a Lead Project Manager, you will be responsible for driving both large- and medium-size innovative IT projects from the start-up phase, until we are live, and the goal has been reached. It is typically IT business development projects, transformation projects and other IT-related projects covering all areas.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Ensure that projects are delivered within the agreed scope/time and continually keep all stakeholders updated and informed. You need to focus on achieving the expected result in collaboration with the business.
  • Manage concurrent projects and ensure that we actively use our IS project model which you are expected to help mature and develop further.  Our Project model makes it possible to use both traditional, agile and hybrid delivery methods such as PRINCE2, Scrum, Agile on-time, and Half Double.
  • Are expected to be able to select the right approach for each project you steer, as we believe each project is unique.

Your business partners are typically executives who wish to implement a new initiative. You will gain a wide International interface within the business and become a central sounding board to your colleagues in the department as well as Delivery Managers globally. You can expect some travel days depending on the individual projects you manage, but not many – we learned a lot from the Covid-period.

” We work globally and often virtually. Motivating and managing multicultural teams and projects virtually across national borders is something I view as a very exciting and central challenge in this position.  Grundfos is a worldwide organization, and it requires an effort to understand the company and the way we operate as well as the ability to create strong relationships with the stakeholders,” explains Stein Kvorning, Lead Project/Program Manager.

Your background:

We believe that you have an academic degree and 5+ years of documented experience within IS project management, preferably from an international organization. It is an advantage if you have Project Management certification and an understanding of agile approaches.

Furthermore, we imagine that you :

  • Have most likely worked with projects within the PLM area and if you have experience with Catia upgrades it’s an advantage
  • Have excellent collaboration- and stakeholder management skills
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Know how to set direction, support, and motivate the people around you
  • Are a highly committed and responsible person
  • Speak and write English fluently.
