Are you looking for an opportunity where technological development and new ways of thinking is top of mind? We are looking for a dedicated lead specialist to take our electrical motors into next level in the manufacturing processes. 

As Lead Motor Engineer you will join our global Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) organisation. We are looking for a person with a curious, creative and innovative mindset who can add radical new ideas and ways of thinking to our manufacturing approach.

Managing the development of the production processes for electric motors
As part of our Motor Manufacturing Technology Development department, you will join a team of 25 Engineering Specialists and Project Managers. Together, we develop the production technologies that enables us to produce 17,000,000 sustainable Grundfos motors every year. 

In this role you will take up the lead for technology scouting and idea creation. Your responsibility is to capture and frame the ideas into technology projects and to plan and coordinate activities with product development and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that Grundfos develop state of the art motors. 

Your main responsibilities will cover:

  • Technology scouting 
  • Idea creation (through visits, workshops a.o.)
  • Support technology development road map for motors
  • Support product and production development projects
  • Manage and support technology development projects
  • Manage existing production processes across the organization
  • Build and maintain technical partnerships within and outside the organization (Universities and Technical Institutions)


This position will be located in our HQ in Bjerringbro, Denmark, and you will report to R&D Manager, Tom Holstein Magnussen. In this position, you can expect up to 25 travel days a year to visit production sites, primarily in China, Hungary, USA, Serbia and in Denmark. 

What do you need to apply?
We will be looking for a person with an exceptional innovative mind-set. You have strong collaborative and communications skills and enjoy to be the spider-in-the -web collecting and distributing critical and relevant information across the organization. You are familiar with an international environment and large development organizations. 

Furthermore, you may:

  • hold a Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Electric Engineering or related
  • have  several years of relevant work experience within R&D or similar innovation environment
  • hold a steady hand when mentoring and leading research and technology development projects
  • have knowledge of active materials within the motors
  • be well-founded within industrial processes (Viz. Six Sigma, FMEA & DFM/A)
  • have knowledge of sustainable manufacturing processes
  • speak and write English fluently.
