Head of product development, Motors & Drivers
Job Description

As a key part of the Motors & Drives Product Development team, you will shape the next generation of motors, frequency converters, and motor-drive platforms powering sustainable water and energy solutions worldwide.

What you will be doing

You will lead a critical R&D area with full ownership of delivery, technology direction, and organizational capability.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading the Motors & Drives development portfolio with accountability for delivery, technical direction, budget, and resource allocation across new products, upgrades, and lifecycle activities
  • Driving the technology agenda within frequency converters, variable speed drives, motors, and power conversion systems, including power electronics, embedded software, EMC, thermal design, and system integration
  • Building strong organizational capabilities by developing talent and strengthening collaboration across hardware, software, systems engineering, testing, and compliance
  • Ensuring product and platform decisions balance performance, quality, cost, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance in close alignment with Product Management, Operations, Quality, and Sourcing
  • Acting as a senior technical leader for key programs, including architecture decisions, make-buy strategies, partnerships, and modular platform reuse
  • Translating divisional strategy into a focused R&D roadmap aligned with market needs, competitiveness, and long-term technology investments

What makes you a great fit

You are an experienced engineering leader with deep expertise in motors, frequency converters, and power conversion, and a strong ability to lead high-performing global teams while balancing technical and commercial priorities.

We expect you have:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Mechatronics, Control Engineering, or similar
  • 10+ years of experience in product development with hands-on exposure to variable speed drives, power conversion, motor-drive systems, or frequency converters
  • Extensive leadership experience in international R&D environments
  • Strong business acumen and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluency in English

It is a plus if you bring:

  • Experience driving organizational change and modern development practices (agile, systems engineering, modular platforms)
  • Proven success in cross-functional collaboration with Product Management, Operations, Quality, and Sourcing
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks for power electronics, drives, and motor systems
