We are looking for a Application Consultant for Shop Floor Domain to join our team of highly skilled IT professionals. In this role, you will translate business requests for functionality into technical specifications in order to create a solution proposal to the business. You will perform analysis and estimation, outlining cost calculations and assist with business case justification. Additionally, you will advise the business on best practices and the effective use of existing IT solutions deployed to production.

What is the job about?

You will use your business acumen and collaboration skills to work with both management and shop floor operators to improve production processes and utilizing IT solutions for the manufacturing automation domain. You will have domain knowledge of shop floor processes, and experience with Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Manufacturing Information Systems (MIS), database operator tasks, and common communication protocols used to interface production equipment.

Your main responsibilities:

• Join business projects to design, develop and implement new MES/MIS systems or enhance existing solutions
• Assigned to ticket
s in order to provide support and guidance, and estimate and quote requests for new business functionality / installations
• Operational tasks as monitoring, performance optimization and security enhancement of install base
• Specify new development needs to software developers and participate in testing of new software releases
• Deliver new installations of software and hardware
• Participate in process improvement activities in department as well as cross functional
• Run innovation projects to explore new technology and solutions
• Join IS project to upgrade, security, enhance or develop non-functional requirement
• Project coordinator for small projects

Your background

We imagine that you have:

  • 3 years of experience with a similar position in a company with inhouse production, or as system integrator for manufacturing companies
  • Domain knowledge of shop floor processes, protocols and IT solutions from the manufacturing automation domain
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Manufacturing Information Systems (MIS), database operator tasks, user interface design
  • Knowledge of software development, CI and CD
  • Education within IT management, engineering or development or similar
