Production - CNC Machinist

Grundfos America is seeking a CNC Machinist to join its Aurora, IL production team.

 

The CNC Machinist is responsible for performing job assignments on CNC machines.  CNC machine operations include producing products on mostly horizontal lathes and mills after set-up with few machine/program adjustments.  Responsible for production of quality products. 

 

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

What is the job about? 
The CNC Machinist:

  • Selects, aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on mills and lathes.
  • Measures and marks dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining.
  • Observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Must be able to setup all parts to be machined.
  • Proficient tooling knowledge, will select and use metal cutting tooling in all applications.
  • Responsible for deburring own parts before moving parts to the next stage.

Working with machinery, may be noisy when machine is running, lifting requirements of up to 35 lbs, ability to use crane and lifting devices, overtime as required.

 

What do you need to apply? 

Optimum candidate will have 4+ years machining experience and experience with Fanuc Controls. 

  • Must be able to take and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Proficient in understanding geometric dimensions and tolerance.
  • Must be able to hold close tolerances.
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments.  Instruments should include but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators and tape measures.
  • Must be able to operate a jib and overhead crane proficiently.
  • Must possess advanced math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, geometry and algebra for the purpose of calculating material fabrication.
  • Three to six years’ experience in the use of measuring tools (ie. Calipers, micrometers, etc)
