Manufacturing
CNC Machinist
Job Description

Are you a skilled machinist who takes pride in producing precision components and thrives in a hands-on manufacturing environment? Then join us in our mission to pioneer smarter solutions for moving and transforming water, reducing energy consumption, and enhancing quality of life for people.

As our new CNC Machinist, you will be operating and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-quality components, while actively contributing to safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives within a collaborative production environment. You'll be part of a diverse, supportive and inclusive culture that celebrates our differences and puts people first by fostering growth, well-being, and a sense of belonging.

What you will be doing:

As a key part of the Manufacturing Operations team, you'll create impact by delivering precision-machined components that uphold Grundfos's commitment to quality and operational excellence in every product we build.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials on CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and other machining equipment
  • Set up all parts to be machined, measuring and marking dimensions and reference points to guide subsequent operations
  • Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and adjust machine controls as required
  • Apply proficient tooling knowledge to select and use metal cutting tooling across all applications
  • Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and indicators to verify part quality
  • Deburr finished parts before advancing them to the next production stage

What makes you a great fit:

Above all, you are a detail-oriented machinist with strong geometric dimensioning and tolerancing knowledge, proven ability to hold close tolerances, and advanced math skills for material fabrication calculations. We would also imagine that you have:

  • A minimum of 3-6 years of hands-on experience with precision measuring tools (calipers, ID/OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators)
  • A minimum of 4+ years of machining experience
  • Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) with the ability to hold close tolerances
  • Advanced math skills including geometry and algebra for material fabrication calculations
  • Ability to operate jib and overhead cranes proficiently

It is a plus if you also:

  • Have machining experience with Cincinnati and Fanuc controls
  • Have familiarity with Mazak VTC 250D/50, VT5 Vertical Lathe, or MORI-SEIKI MH-63 Horizontal Milling Center
  • Have experience setting up parts and writing programs in Mazatrol or NC/G-Code

The salary range for this position is $26.00 to $ 34.00 per hour.  Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate’s profile. The range listed is just one component of Grundfos’s total compensation and benefits package for employees. Total compensation includes paid time off, paid holidays, merit increases, bonuses, and employee stock purchase programs, etc. To learn more about our benefits, please visit: Grundfos Benefits
