What is the job about?
As an Associate Material Planner, you will act as the key link between vendors and production site requirements. Your main responsibility will be to coordinate, organize, and ensure the timely delivery of purchased parts in the right quantity, based on customer demand and production leveling through the SAP system. You will manage stock levels according to DOS and SUC targets, establish delivery windows with shipping, warehousing, and vendors, and contribute with continuous improvement ideas.
You will also:
- Issue purchase orders and forecasts to assigned vendors.
- Evaluate vendor performance monthly.
- Create, manage, and deliver reports to improve planning routines and facilitate KPI follow-up for the material planning team.
This role reports directly to our Supply Chain Supervisor and is based in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, operating on-site daily.
Please note that relocation for this position cannot be supported, and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in Mexico without support.
Your main responsibilities:
- Analyze purchased parts requirements, maintain master data, place orders, and track deliveries daily.
- Update PO status (AB & LA), resolve incoming issues, and collaborate on invoice unblocking.
- Send forecasts to vendors and evaluate their performance.
- Control and maintain optimal stock levels, avoiding slow-moving materials.
- Reduce AF and prevent production shutdowns.
- Perform daily routines to identify risks and make adjustments as needed.
- Ensure high-quality master data within your area of responsibility.
- Monitor KPIs and prepare reports to support the production process.
Your background
We imagine that you have:
- A degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, International Trade, or similar.
- 1–2 years of experience in a related role.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, functions).
- Fluent English.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- General knowledge of logistics and transportation.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain accountability.
- Leadership potential and a focus on results.
- Quick learning ability and strong follow-up skills.
- Planning and organizational capabilities.
