Proposal Engineer
Job Description

Are you passionate about delivering expert technical solutions that help customers solve complex water technology challenges? Then join our mission to pioneer smarter water solutions that reduce energy use and improve lives.

As our new CSSC Proposal Engineer - Controls, you'll be providing subject matter expert-level technical support on packaged systems and controls, delivering world-class proposals and guidance that empower both customers and internal teams to succeed. You'll be part of a diverse, supportive and inclusive culture, that celebrates our differences and puts people first by fostering growth, well-being, and a sense of belonging.

This position reports directly to the CSSC Manager and will operate daily out of the Apodaca or Monterrey facility. Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in Mexico without support.

What you will be doing
As a key part of the CSSC Proposal team, you'll create impact by translating complex customer requirements into tailored technical solutions that strengthen relationships and drive business growth.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical assistance to customers on product sizing, applications, system solutions, accessories, installations, and pricing to ensure functionality in practice
  • Manage packaged system projects—including Hydro MPC booster skids, DSS dosing skids, and controls—from specification review and proposal development through submittals and technical support
  • Develop and maintain deep subject matter expertise in packaged systems and control solutions, serving as a go-to technical resource for customers and internal stakeholders
  • Handle complex and escalated inquiries and quotations, ensuring timely RFI/RFQ turnaround and high resolution rates
  • Identify business opportunities and hand over leads to external sales while implementing value-added services to enhance customer relationships
  • Support and guide the CSSC Back Office team through mentoring, internal training, and knowledge sharing

What makes you a great fit

Above all, you're a technically sharp and customer-focused professional with strong knowledge of pumps, controls, and packaged systems, combined with excellent communication skills and a drive to solve complex engineering challenges. We'd also imagine that you are/have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or equivalent, with 3+ years of relevant experience in technical customer service or proposal engineering
  • Fundamental mechanical and electrical knowledge with understanding of pumps, controls, and water technology applications
  • Working knowledge of SAP (CRM/SD) and proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Excellent written and spoken English with strong communication and relationship-building skills

It's a plus if you also:

  • Experience with packaged systems such as booster skids (Hydro MPC), dosing skids (DSS), or similar engineered-to-order solutions
  • Ability to interpret type keys and identify product configurations, including pumps, spare parts, kits, and motors
  • Experience identifying and developing business opportunities within a customer service environment

Why you'll love working here

Day to day, you can look forward to:

  • A working environment built around your needs, with flexible hours, home working opportunities and parental support.
  • Annual bonuses, health insurance and a strong focus on well-being activities.
  • Three days' additional paid leave for volunteering.
  • On-demand training and structured development programmes to support your growth.
