Account Manager, Ground Water & Irrigation
Job Description

This is a flexible role that can be office or remote-based and will require travel through South Australia & Western Victoria. We are open to considering candidates in any of these locations: Adelaide, Mount Gambier, Mildura, or Warrnambool.

 

An exciting opportunity awaits within a global leader in water solutions. Grundfos Pumps Australia is seeking an enthusiastic Account Manager to join our Water Utility Division.

 

What is the Job all about?

 

As an Account Manager within our Ground Water and Irrigation segment, you will work closely with commercial businesses serving these key market sectors. Your primary objective is to drive sales growth, achieve margin targets, and elevate customer satisfaction within your assigned portfolio. You will also execute annual tactical plans and support your team to deliver shared goals.

 

This role reports directly to the Sales Manager – Groundwater & Irrigation based in Western Australia.

 

Your main responsibilities:

 

  • Achieve sales growth and margin targets.
  • Deliver world‑class customer service through strong technical knowledge and a deep understanding of customer needs.
  • Execute tactical plans, including sales and marketing activities.
  • Continually build expertise in products and applications relevant to the market sector.
  • Provide value‑added solutions with a sell‑through mindset, supporting both dealers and end users.
  • Apply Sales Excellence principles using SAP CRM.
  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers (BDMs) and Key Account Managers (KAMs) to drive profitable growth across National Key Accounts.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to achieve performance unit goals.
  • Retain and grow key customers by establishing and maintaining strong relationships across accounts.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities to expand share of wallet and support growth initiatives.
  • Conduct customer training in both online and face‑to‑face formats.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the role as required.

 

  Your background:

 

  • Recognized studies or certifications in professional sales development, negotiation, or B2B selling, supplemented by a technical qualification (electrical/mechanical trade or engineering) are desirable.
  • Minimum 3 years of technical sales experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in any of the following sectors: Ground Water, Irrigation, Agricultural Water, or Stock Watering.
  • Strong track record of meeting targets and developing trusted customer relationships.
  • Proven success in a similar role is highly desirable.
  • Expertise in Ground Water and Irrigation applications, including ground/river/spring/dam water extraction, solar‑powered systems, and water filtration/treatment.
  • Strong knowledge of pumps and pumping systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute tactical plans and adapt to change.
  • Experience applying Sales Excellence principles.
  • Excellent prioritization skills.
  • CRM proficiency (SAP preferred).
  • Experience working for companies such as equipment manufacturers, distributors, or system solution builders serving the water sector.
