Account Manager, Water Utility (Ground Water and Irrigation)

As our new Account Manager, Water Utility (Ground Water & Irrigation), you will be managing and growing a portfolio of commercial accounts across the ground water and irrigation market in South Australia and Western Victoria, delivering tailored pumping solutions that help customers extract, move, and manage water more effectively.

What you will be doing

As a key part of the Water Utility – Groundwater & Irrigation team, you'll create impact by Building trusted partnerships with dealers and end users to expand Grundfos's presence in critical water sectors, directly contributing to sustainable water management across regional Australia..

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Drive sales growth and margin targets across your assigned ground water and irrigation accounts in South Australia and Western Victoria
  • Deliver value-added pumping solutions with a sell-through mindset, supporting both dealers and end users with strong technical knowledge
  • Execute annual tactical plans including sales campaigns, marketing activities, and customer training (online and face-to-face)
  • Retain and grow key customers by building deep relationships and identifying opportunities to expand share of wallet
  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers and Key Account Managers to drive profitable growth across National Key Accounts
  • Apply Sales Excellence principles using SAP CRM to manage pipeline, track performance, and prioritise opportunities

What makes you a great fit

Above all, you are a technically minded sales professional with deep knowledge of ground water and irrigation applications, a proven track record of hitting targets, and the ability to build lasting customer relationships across regional territories. We would also imagine that you have:

  • Minimum 3 years of technical sales experience in a B2B environment
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in ground water, irrigation, agricultural water, or stock watering sectors
  • Strong knowledge of pumps, pumping systems, and water extraction applications (ground/river/dam water, solar-powered systems, filtration/treatment)
  • Demonstrated ability to meet sales and margin targets while managing a geographically dispersed customer portfolio

It is a plus if you also have:

  • Technical qualification (electrical/mechanical trade or engineering) complemented by professional sales development or negotiation certifications
  • CRM proficiency, preferably SAP
  • Experience working for equipment manufacturers, distributors, or system solution builders serving the water sector
